I was inspired to make this post from Stephanie at http://missstephanieusher.blogspot.com, I'll try not to make it too long as it is a fair few years since I was 14 (9 years in fact.. oh my god :| ) I'm depressed already. Anyway here goes..
Dear 14 year old self,
At this moment in time, you're in year 9, your nanny has just passed away and you're being made to feel like shit daily by your supposed friends. They will make you feel excluded and do things without you, and then talk about it in front of you just to wind you up, what you don't realise is eventually it'll all come to a head in the August school holidays, and you'll get some horrible text messages, eventually you'll crack and tell mum, and she doesn't think you're stupid at all, infact she's gutted that your so called 'friends' who you've known since you were 7 could treat you like this and more gutted that you didn't tell her sooner. She will do everything she can to move you to a new school, pleading with headteachers to see you, and eventually you'll get the offer of a place in the new school. You'll keep it secret so that no-one can ruin it.
September will come and you will be stood in the reception of a new school knowing only one person and you'll be bricking it wondering if the problem actually is you, not the girls and what are you going to do if people hate you here too. But don't worry, the first week will fly by and you'll wonder what the hell you worried about. You will end up actually enjoying going to school, even if it is to see everyone at break, and soon enough by the time you're nearly 15 you'll have a boyfriend. The relationship will overall be pretty happy, and last over a year (which you never thought would happen). But then you'll get your first taste of reality with men, and he will finish things to start seeing someone else.
You'll find out he had been cheating on you, on and off for 6 months, but don't worry! You WILL get over it, and they're not all like that. And you'll realise that it was for the best because you'd definitely be sat writing this surrounded by dirty nappies and onto your 3rd child had you have not split up. And let's be honest you're not cut out for children are you!?
I'd say try harder in year 11, but your GCSE results were alright and you were having fun with your friends so don't panic, there actually is a brain in there, and you'll end up going to college (and actually completing the course).
All those times you got drunk underage your mum and dad never actually knew, so congratulations on being such a good actress!

Well done for never starting to smoke, a lot of your friends back then did it and you never bothered, they all regret it now.
Beauty advice: PLEASE don't wear white eyeshadow ever, and discover bronzer as soon as possible. Do not dye your hair dark brown until bronzer has been discovered... you will look pale and stupid.

If I could tell you to do anything different, I'd say go work abroad as soon as your 18, don't worry about missing home, it really won't affect you. And it's so worth the odd day you do miss home. You'll meet so many amazing people from around the world by doing it, and some will become best friends.
And last but not least - every hangover is the worst one you've EVER had so just enjoy the night and worry about it in the morning, when you can't get out of bed, and remember what you did last night.
